had an unforgettable mystique,
and i remember how i loved your words,
whenever you would speak,
but then god gave you wings,
and angels let you fly,
i cried and screamed at losing you,
i never got to say goodbye,
i never got to say i loved you,
i wanted to tell you that so bad,
Your the only love ill ever want,
and the only true love ive ever had,
to say your gone,
must be untrue,
i just cant see my life,
without you,
theres an emty place at the steeple,
where there should be a groom,
theres a father figure missing,
in our future family room,
you were my bestfriend,
but more, you were my life,
i knew we would grow old together,
and i would be your wife,
but just a harmless party,
just an amount of beer,
is the only reason,
that your no longer here,
so please, if you have loved ones,
dont ever drink and drive,
for, if my true love hadnt....
he would still be alive.

* This piece is not something that has happened to me, but instead, I put myself in another's place. *

Dear Chanti @-<-<<-
This is a true rose of a poem... to put yourself unselfishly in someone else's shoes and to do it so remarkably well.. you have captured all the emotions perfectly; I know; I've really been there... thank you for sharing this wonderful write...

I am glad this didn't happen to you. This was a beautifully sad poem. I loved it a lot. I have a friend whose dad struggles with drinking perhaps he should read this.
I love all your poems and this one had your gemlike touch as well.
