I wait for you to show but your train has come and gone
When I am lonelier then I can possible be
When I have lost all that is inside of
As I lay my drunk head down to sleep
And my thoughts swirl and make me sick
An image of you is implanted in my dream
The image of your misery and selfish being

When the road forks and I must choose
As the night moves forth and the booze flows
I will sit alone in the back of the room
And ask myself why I was born to loose
If this is some grand scheme of his
If there is silver lining in the sky
If the rainbow of Noah and his arc existed
Then why wont he tell me why, why?

In the end of days at a turning point in time
My body frail and dazed at crossroads in my mind
When push comes to shove and you disappoint
When the day heat sparks the last and final point
As the moment collapses from what I originally thought
When love no longer lingers like the fish that is caught
On this string of dominance I fight you back
I grab hold of the rope and pull until it all turns black

When the wind and rain never cease to fall
And the tides of the ocean are ten stories tall
The sun and the moon squabble for a sovereign claim to the sky
When the man inside of me takes a breathe and begins to rise
And the preface to this tale entailed an comprise
If push comes to shove and you’re on your way
I will just save this love for a less rainy day

WOW. This is truly e-x-c-e-l-l-e-n-t. Very strong first stanza, powerful, emotionally charged throughout, and superior ending...
One of your best writes by far. This line; "On this string of dominance I fight you back, I grab hold of the rope and pull until it all turns black..." Amazing.
