[hometext] => This poem is concerning the tragedy that took place on September 11, 2001. It describes my feelings on the horrific events and my views on how I feel it changed our nation.

I heard the losses weighed a ton I didn't see World War II I'm sure the losses were more than a few But on the eleventh of September 2001 Alot of lives were taken that weren't quite done Those killers hit on our home soil Now our population lives in turmoil Wars cause change That is different and strange Instead of ripping us farther apart Our country now operates as one beating heart From the redcross and the nurses Aiding victims with the doctors To the thousands of brave firefighters Rushing the building to save the mothers and the daughters From the children crying in the playgrounds To the US fighters that are airbound From the sad speeches made by the President To the last words of the 787 flight attendant Each person was affected From the commoner, to the rich, to the publically elected Together we all cry For the many whom have died And together we will fight back Against this deadly terrorist attack [comments] => 2 [counter] => 254 [topic] => 8 [informant] => Lauren [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 4 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => AmericanTragedy )
