Particles of debris fly everywhere
Nothing left to salvage in its' aftermath

No putting the pieces together again
Nothing remains salvageable
As it existed, there is no longer an entity

Who ignited the fuse is irrelevant now
There is no one left to blame
There is only an I, where a we used to be

Mourn the loss if you must
Decide whether your weapons to reload
So again, destroy any threat to your supremacy

Although, God you are not
Only you can guard your heart, and avoid the lesser hand
No one is going to dominate, or make a stand

So ready your weapons again
Prepare to annihilate anyone who becomes a threat
Teach them all a lesson, one they will never forget [comments] => 6 [counter] => 172 [topic] => 64 [informant] => Willofree [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 12 [ratings] => 3 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => ambiguous )

Whoa! Turning your heart to stone and exacting revenge will never make things better for you. In fact, just the opposite. Your whole life will be miserable living like this. Sometimes love just shatters. Let the pieces fall where they may, forgive and forget, and be on your merry way. Don't miss another chance to dance to the tune of love because you were out for revenge. You might miss the one really meant to be in your life.

Good work here.
Rita

sounds like a rant against the Bush administration to me, but whatever way you interpete this, it is a very good piece of writing.

It is as my literature teacher said - whatever poem you read, you bring your own experiences and visions to the table in its interpretation. I'll try to see exactly what is here and see over the edge of my glasses... Obviously an explosion and its aftermath - what type of explosion exactly must be the three ways. What *does* occur to me is that for the last stanza to work, the person/organzation has to see the "enemy" as being separate from self, not a reflection of the self, and not a given lesson that self needs to learn. That seems to be a given in the persona portrayed.
A powerful write in its entirety! J.

Well, my first thoughts were of 9/11, and then in the polar opposite direction, I thought of a bad break-up, or at the very least, an intense argument in a relationship...I've settled on the latter. Whatever you had in mind when you wrote this, one thing is clear...You had some heavy duty emotions which you displayed superbly in this write. I enjoyed the thought process here...A wonderfully emotive piece!!
