Array ( [sid] => 9727 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => Breaking In [time] => 2003-01-04 10:00:00 [hometext] => Hi, I used to write on here all the time "way back in the day." My friends all stopped using the site and so did I. So for the last few months I have been wanting to sign up and have been reading everyones work. Now I have finally gotten re-started and hope to get to know more people and make new friends.
-kpa.

p.s.... sorry if there are spelling errors. [bodytext] => I live within my prison
That I've built it myself but with the help of others too
Over the years managed to tightly and securly close it all up
Escapes and entrances are less than few
The windows are barred
And are made of unbreakable glass,
I can clearly see out
but seeing in is quite the task.
The walls are undistructable
Made of supper metal brick
They get bigger and stronger with each and every day, Have now become more than 100 meters thick.
Surrounding my prison
Past the depths of the forest and all the graves
Is an iron gate that stands powerful and tall,
Sadness and isolation, is what it craves.
The guards circle all day and night,
Each appearing to be tough and strong, one bye one
Looking for intruders, whom dare to take the challenge,
But with one glance at the guards they always start to run.
So now I sit,
Within these four dark walls
Waiting and hoping for the day,
When my destiny calls.
For maybe on day,
Someone will find the route
Past the gates through the guards and the ghosts
To my heart, where together we’ll find out way out.

The advice of friends can sometimes be folly. WELCOME BACK *grabs mystical_illusion in a bear hug* now that I am finished with the sentiments...
This was a great poem I liked the 2nd part the best. It has great imagery why do the guards only appear to be tough? Is it just an illusion perhaps like your name... mystical_illusion? Lol I am wierd I know and if I haven't scared you off I'll be waiting for more of your stuff :)

Poetry is to be inturpeted differently by everyone. What I feel when I read this poem, is that you have built walls around you in your life and in relationships. You can see others, they may be able to see you...but barely see within you..who you really are. And you awaiting for the day that you meet that 'someone' whom you can trust and be yourself with, and then slowly the walls can come down. And you will be free.
Maybe you can let me know about my own interpetation of this poem. Maybe I am far off..but all in all, I think a lot of people can relate to this in one way or another.
Thank you for this poem Mystic ~ you got a lot of emotion flowing through me after reading that write.
