with a clock ticking on command

sleeping heads await it's cue
while the empty concept of time sits blindly in our minds

a planet spinning on its axis
houses monuments made to break in the wind

with hammer and chisel in hand
new nations are built around a ticking fear

as locals gather for nuclear winter
the slave clock sits above and wonders.......why?

it wonders why a world relies on it
but ignores the vastness beyond its gears

now a warped counter sits pondering
counting its influence on a sleeping world

an alien hand suddenly moves above the clock
and places a finger between the hands in motion

the clock is now only as strong
as big brother's dependence

the owner of the alien hand wonders now...

when a clock loses its power
will the world awaken or be awoken?

Great thoughts I thought it was excellent you could work on the actual poem though I thought it more as a collection of thoughts. Great job however. Keep it up.
