Unseen by eyes but felt thru years
We grow fast to slow when old
The granite waits when we feel cold

But in between our births and deaths
We succumb to trials and tests
Some lift high and half are chance
Days flit by without a glance

Decisions made where future's lie
Choosing wrong, then making right
Youth know all 'fore wisdom sees
What we sow becomes our deeds

And if you ask someone who's old
What's important? You'll be told
To live and love, laugh and play
For no one knows when it's their day

To fall asleep and not awake
For life is short with no retakes
And right below your given name
They'll be a dash between the dates

Kie, this is excellent. It is rather sad to think life all comes down to a - (dash) in the end. No matter what you accomplished, how hard you worked, life still ends up a -. This is so true and the older I get the more I realize it is true. Brilliant.

Hugs,
Rita

Not only is this perfectly written, it's filled with such wisdom. Life is just shooting star, burning brightly only for a moment then gone forever. It's good to read something from you my dear friend.

Kie this is an excellent poem, not only for the content, but for the truth. We do fall asleep, and unlike many think we don't go wondering off to heaven or someplace else. If he had wanted us in Heaven, he'd have kept us there. The fulitiy of death is just that, one dash, except for one more thing. "You will be known in the end by the tracks you leave behind!" So it note worthy that no one lives for naught.......we all live for others and in the end that's all they've got!
Marvelous Kie......just what I always expect of you!
Your comment on my Noah's poem was so kind........thank you dear, I'm so happy to be able to comment on yours again. I love your poetry, insight and wonderment!
Warm love dear friend,
ConSue

Kie how very true. as an elderly man seventy five I can vouch for what you have written. The time is running away from me now when I was young everything went so slow.Especialy holidays it seemed forever between Christmas and the next Christmas now the months come and go so fast great poem. Keep smiling from bernard.

Very honest and straight forward: make the
best of your time and appreciate life while you
can because you don't know when it'll end.
Good job on this write.

A most nobel write ..
I'd just left a comment to one who's veiw on life
was that of a narcissist..
and even though yours are contrary to his beliefs..
I'll say the same to you:

Don't live everyday as if it were your last,
live everyday as if it is your last.

Thaoughts and Prayers to You-
