That cool fall night
You made a ‘mistake’
That mistake,
Was your only child.
That mistake was me.
I remember growing up
And hating you for not loving me
Hating you,
hating everything about you,
even though
I had never met you…
I can’t understand why
But I feel like it’s my fault,
Tell me father,
What did I do
To make you hate me?
They tried to show me to you,
But you burned the picture
With out looking at it,
You didn’t show up
In court
The day I was supposed to be there,
Why?
Why do you hate me?
What have I done?
Am I a reminder
Of who you once were,
Of the life you longed to have?
Or am I just the product
Of a forced love,
One that was hidden safely away
Behind an iron mask?
I’m sorry for being your child,
And I’m sorry I’ve caused you so much pain…
And even though
You’re only a ghost of a man,
Barely real to me now,
And unknown,
I still love you.

hello. i know how you feel. I met my real mom when I was 16 years old. I used to think there was something wrong with me. Now that I'm an adult, I know it wasn't my fault. It's NOT your fault either. Hang in there.
