To write your heart onto a page
And have it thrown away.
To let your mind a sordid rage
And know you'll surely pay.
To feel as though you've lost a fight
And lost all hope as well.
To know you'll never be as right
Or outlive your own hell.
To be unravelled, mad with pain
And lack the will to mend.
To stand in this, a world of rain,
And never know its end.
