beneath the summer stars
I listen to the whisper
of the drowsy summer sea..
The newly risen moon
so majestic as she glows
on the undulating waters
where the ships are sailing free.

The moon and stars illuminate
this sleepy summer sea..
while drawing on it's tide
from the city up the bay,
for I know how it will look
and how boundless it will be
when we and all our children
have forever passed away.

It's form shall never change
as the happiness I Bore...by walking 'neath the stars-
slowly strolling by it's shore...

I cannot say of all your glory
but I hope you all can see
all the reason for my story..

How I love the summer sea!

Is this Cape Cod again?? Geez I'm going, that's it!! I love the nostalgia of this write, and it flows calmly much like the sea you speak of with such passion...It sounds so peacefully bountiful...wow! The third stanza made me smile.

The words are so visual. It is like a painting Alice in Wonderland could get lost in, and be in total heaven.

I personally have never seen the sea, as I'm in the prairies in Canada.
But this was gorgeous, it led me into your experience of it and
put beautiful images in my mind. Nice job.

*****Climbing up the hillside
beneath the summer stars
I listen to the whisper
of the drowsy summer sea..

So peaceful and tranquil the beginning of this poem.

****The newly risen moon
so majestic as she glows
on the undulating waters
where the ships are sailing free.

Peaceful, a beautiful sight, such freedom.

*****for I know how it will look
and how boundless it will be
when we and all our children
have forever passed away.

A peaceful thought just knowing the beauty will remain as you go on to higher places. What a beautiful poem this is. Serenity at its best, untroubled soul.

Wonderful write

Be well,

Raquel Leah :D

Stunning, Bill, [and so impossibly full of imagery]

*sigh*

so wonderfully serene, my dearest friend. I am completely in love with
this piece. It is filled with the warmth of a soft caress and the emotion of
a gentle kiss.

As always, a complete work of perfection.

Well done here, Billy. Soooooooo beautiful!
