The tulips, dripping with dew, welcome the bright new day.
Yes, he's the one who brushed the trees so green and the harvest of golden grain,
He's the one who gives life in due season, I'll not mourn the falling rain.
He stretched his wonder abroad, amid the stars of heaven,
He said let there be light, and the word of life was given.
His arm of mercy reached from afar and gae to this inner man,
Oh, he awoke me from a death in sin, so this race of life I have ran.
The one of whom I speak, is the I am, his host of Abraham,
Now surely he's the shout of Joshua and the strength of Moses, Israels leading man.
I'm so glad I found that name, a refuge in time of need,
Now when I speak that magic name to all of you, his every commandment give earnest heed.
Now he rose the dead to live, and the blind to see, so went his great fame,
Of a truth he's the lord of lords and our very Christ, I'll speak his wonderful name.
That magic saved me from an awful sickness, a disease called sin,
Shout that name to all in praise and glory, that crown you may gladly win.
Jesus is the ending of night and is the song of the morning bird,
Ah yes, the melody of my soul, the feast of my heart, that magic you just heard.
Oh sever from me every weight that burden me from that plum line so true,
That name from everlasting to everlasting, forever and still so very new.
