without a thought, without a sound
their cloak of sadness spread around.

The off-white clouds of days gone by
drift silent in the summer sky,
to shroud the sun as if to hide
the nearing of the eventide.

Your eyes speak only of the night
and yearn for dusk to dim their sight,
your arms seek only to enfold
the love that pains your heart to hold.

You watch the sunset as you cry
at hopes that once were lifted high,
now cast in shadows at your feet
for no more will you ever meet.

The bitter taste of summer wine

paints hopes and dreams in shades of grey
for sunrise is another day... [comments] => 2 [counter] => 452 [topic] => 22 [informant] => backstreetdreamer [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => LostLove )

We all tend to feel like this at times.We look back at times gone by, of chances lost.But Hey! there's so much to come.no time for sadness.Come on, let's party and show them all what we're made of, ros

Beautifully written, the hope etched in the last line for sunrise is another day,even though the subject is tinged with sadness the way you have written almost creates a peace
