Perfumes to beckon,
Scents to attract;
Thousands I reckon;
Lining the racks!

Roses and lilies;
Carnations in bowers;
Whats his Achilles?
Pick from the flowers!

All the French labels;
Promise hell pounce!
The price of seduction;
Two hundred an ounce!

A dab on each ear;
A spray on the wrist!
The cost to endear;
In hope of a kiss.

The road to the bedroom;
Detours through your kitchen;
It isnt Chanel
That men find bewitching!

Those fabulous women;
We envy the most;
Ensure sweet allure a la;
Ode de Pot Roast!

I loved this. How true the old saying is...That the way to a man/'/s heart is through his stomach. Very enjoyable read and thank you for the laugh this morning, it was very much needed.

This is SO very cool! I was in the shower a week ago or so....thinking about how much I enjoy the scent of quality parfume, as opposed to cologne. I confess that I have worn it at times. The point is, that because we, as a society, have decided that THIS scent is women/'/s, and THAT scent is man/'/s, to deviate from the prescribed assignation is labeled as /'/freaky/'/, or to that effect. I say HOGWASH on that. The caboose to this train of thought is I planned (in the shower) on writing a poem about it. Of course, I forgot....until now!

On reading yours, I definitely am doing so.

Thanks! So very, very clever you are, dear friend.

Excellence as your usual. I was never a fan of the
dreaded pot roast but I enjoyed it just the same!!!

i almost feel like i owe you an apology, of sorts.
you/'/ve consistently commented on my poetry,
and commented with insight.
a gentle, unyielding....kindness and support.
i should have repaid the favor long ago.

i think of myself as a slave to rhythm
yet the master to the rhyme.
you should start doing the same,
as you are both.
and they are beautiful.
and they suit you.

again, thank you.
the rat-a-tat lives.

I was a born vegetable,
seriously, I simply would not
eat meat cooked, or raw.
Yet, pounce, the pungent smell
of aphrodisiac, but no,
pounce, there I did never belong,
mystified would be more like it,
while eating me spinach,
for I truly was guided by my
love for Olive Oil, a yuk yuk yuk
but never like Hercules
not anything you could pop
out of a can
