Irish Blue

Contributed by jamesstockdale on Monday, 6th November 2017 @ 09:09:47 AM in AEST
Topic: ambiguous

Orchid Lakes of Irish Blue
Thinking of a gal
I once knew
Wondering if she ever had a clue
The love I had for her
Was forever true
While frolicking in the fields of yellow rye
She once whispered
In our future we too shall die
Tears of joy she did not cry
For a few years later
She did die
From what I have seen
All that is golden
Was once green
Looking back to the fields of yellow rye
Today I surmise
It was her way of saying goodbye

Those first three lines could be written in stone and whispered through the corridors of time beautifully expressive.

When love leaves, it takes a part of us with it.
You have so tenderly described her farewell as a changing season that you have folded love into the cycle of life.
A forgiving reminder that memories we reject remain painful; Those we embrace and accept can heal.

Irish, the say, that they have eyes
that shine.
The priest and the nun who conspired
secretly to understand science and
spread mathematics with no sex
They were probably not Irish. They were probably outcasts
likely from African descent who cared for
the poor they found in Ireland.
Hope is everything. That/'/s what my Irish sisters
taught me. I think they got it from my mom.
