Not coming home for Christmas.

Contributed by northernlights on Sunday, 10th December 2017 @ 01:22:08 AM in AEST
Topic: Grief

You/'/re in a home mum.
I come and sit with
You in a room full of
Those who are
Not in their own
Home.

There/'/s a beautiful
Tree in the room
Where you all
Sit and you like
That.

It doesn/'/t smell
Right and it
Doesn/'/t feel
Right and
There/'/s nothing
About it
That is right.

And fear is
Now voiced
In rage, screams
Biting and
Aggression
As you bark
At life!
Scream at
It/'/s cruelty

And peace is
Sought in trying
To Close your
Eyes.

I don/'/t want you
To be here.
Here where you
You
Shouldn/'/t be.

And in
Lucidity
You know.

I go to the old
Places and
Familiar faces
And tell them
You won/'/t be
Coming home

But the tears
Are reserved
For us.

My Mom had dementia. Satan`s blessing is what I call it. This is heart wrenching. I am so sorry for you and your mum.

*giant hugs*

I/'/m traveling the same road. A worthless trip well traveled. Writing it out is the only way to iron it out in your mind. Sad!

My heart is breaking for you. Unfortunately, you cannot know that she suffers less than you.
Dementia erases our logic. When it doesn/'/t bring terror, it brings sweet abandonment. It is a double edged sword.
We who are left to look upon it, and can remember how it used to be, ache with longing. Those inflicted have peaceful moments when they are angels unaware.
I wish you strength and understanding. You write of her so beautifully, from a deep and kind heart.
