The Breath

Topic: InspirationalPoems

Inhale.
Slap. Puff. Slap. Puff.
Itís there to the left.
Slap. Puff. Slap. Puff.
The dip is coming;
knees, mind...adjust.
Slapuff. Slapuff. Slap. Puff.
Slap- pothole; crunch.
Waves never stop singing.
Wrung to be.
Slap. Puff.
Slap safe.
Safe run. Safe dip. Safe dust.
Slap. Puff.
Sculpted to swim.
Fearing the cost.
Slap- loss. Puff.
A soul cries.
A run will bust.
NO.
Slap, puff. Slap, slap, slap slapslapslap.
Slap Sand, slap Splash; wrung.
Exhale.

Tick tick...you have slowed the world down into tiny increments and each segment reminds us to eat life more slowly.
We wolf down the banquet set before us and wonder where time went so swiftly.
In a single breath, living thrives.
The stuff of our lives is in the minutia. Exhale.

the intensity glimpses of
realness, I would run
like a recluse as a young
man even in the middle of
winter I would don on my
shoes, runners pants
a hat and some gloves
and out I would go
as though something
was bothering my
soul, as it often could
Someone has suffered
I would run for them
Something is unjust
I would run against
it
Slap, Puff, Slap, Puff
starting off cold
coming back wringing
in sweat
No, I would know
nothing has really
much changed,
Breath, Breath,
sometimes it can
be all you can
appropriate
sometimes you
think in greater volumes
when consuming only
air
