Iím here for the job; let me see;
What have you got to offer me?
I live at home, but with this pay;
I Ďll get an apartment right away!

How many holidays do I get?
Do I have any vacation yet?
Whereís the lunchroom? How long are my breaks?
How many cigarette smokes can I take?
How many sick days am I allowed?
Iím going to need my medical NOW.
How long before I get a raise?
I have lots of bills to pay!

I wonít need a locker; Just a desk.
So I can sit down while I text.
Youíre going to take WHAT out of my pay?
I wonít be needing a 401 K.

Do I have to punch a clock?
Or wear this uniform youíve got?
A workout gym would be real cool;
Or just a spa and small whirlpool.

Iíll need time off for Disneyland;
Youíve got kids, you understand!
Who is going to take my place;
When I need to come in late?

But mopping floors and washing pans
Hurts my back and chaps my hands!
When you can teach me how to be
A CEO at 23. That job was just meant for me!
Look at my check; thereís nothing left!
The governmentís committed theft!
What do they need my money for?
They can always print some more!

I canít live on what you pay.
And I donít have time anyway.
You can choose some other fool;
I think Id rather stay in school.

Every stanza is filled with truthful delusion.
Should I laugh, cry, or hide.......??
This is so sad but oh so funny. The folly of youth and entitlement.

Awesome flow with every line brimming with the sad realities of life... I/'/ve seen much of this in my day....Did you get paid for this or promoted? lol

The sad modern day generation (some).
Ask not what your country (company) can do for you, ask what you can do for your country doesn/'/t mean much anymore.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
