Topic: LovePoetry

I like it when the space between our bodies slips away
and staying in with you on rainy days
I love the look in your eyes right before you pull me in
and the way my skin bears every imprint

and even more than crashing waves
I love the way my spirit craves
the placid lake in which I sleep
with every word of yours I keep

I like my hands on you and the way your mouth tastes on mine
and your morning views of coastal skylines
I love the way our bodies fit together, lock and key
your face, the only thing my eyes can see

but even more than searing heat
I love your heart`s unfailing beat
words exchanged in sacred spaces
fearlessness in striking places

I like being enamoured with your seductive style
I`d like to stay here with you for a while
I love wearing my heart so safely on my sleeve for you
and how sweet it is just to fall right through

so even more than florid rhymes
I`d say these words a thousand times
I promise to stay unconcealed
here within your magnetic field

That opening stanza literally gave me goosebumps. I legit love this and relate to this. The opening is my favorite part but also really loved:

I love wearing my heart so safely on my sleeve for you
and how sweet it is just to fall right through

Great write!

While you describe your devotion there is a backbeat of surrender and searching for ways to commit to memory that which is only feelings.
is my favorite line. You have just said it without needing to describe it further, and that is a compliment to the reader because you assume that we will GET IT without assistance.
You are entirely correct.
Trust your readers to interpret. In my case, they do it far better than I!

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
