Any Time You Want To Step UP

Contributed by invierno on Friday, 18th January 2019 @ 01:16:02 AM in AEST
Topic: spiritual

Soft as a summer drizzle,
silent as Kentucky fog,
whispering, those Sinai cedars,
Iím witness to it all.

Morals not so much slipped away
as shushed into the void,
this menace not without direction
a hand caresses us as toys undressed

Knowing where to rub our lazy spot,
our bowelish place,
one by one weíre robbed of breath.

Lyric motions plunder motives,
ďGive in to us, itís okayĒ,
and sagging ears take in the siren;
now sin walks proudly in the day.

What end game?, Iíve pondered often,
what profit do they seek?
Broken down, impoverished,
this world now plodding piles of soulless meat.

The devilís laughing lustily,
success undreampt, now anti-love.
Eons pass, at last, weíre where he wants us;
as below, so above.

I wrote a lengthy comment on this that turned political so I axed it. Wasn/'/t my intention. Weird. Extremely well written but when it goes from my lips to my brain its highly fragmented and in the end I/'/m all over the place with this. I guess it/'/s over my head or I over thunk it :)

Maybe that/'/s the goal of it? If so I found it full of intrigue and mentally torturous.....
Great write!

Yikes....many stunning statements linger:
PLODDING PILES OF SOULLESS MEAT...
SHUSHED INTO THE VOID....

but your last line is a killer..
AS BELOW, SO ABOVE. Four words that are a poem in themselves.
That is haunting!

A must multiple read to devour the nuances.
It stings the mind..! Well thought out. To call it executed is redundant! I hope you are not entirely correct in your assessment. But I find it hard to argue!

"Lazy just stay in bed
You/'/re lazy just stay in bed
You don/'/t want no money
You don/'/t want no bread
If you/'/re drowning you don/'/t clutch no straw, no
If you/'/re drowning you don/'/t clutch no straw
You don/'/t want to live you don/'/t want to cry no more
Well my trying ain/'/t done no good
I said my trying ain/'/t done no good
You don/'/t make no effort no not like you should
Lazy you just stay in bed
Lazy you just stay in bed
You don/'/t want no money
You don/'/t want no bread"
a song written by Ian Gillian,
man he could sing.

you drip drip drip,
ooze, paralyzed, sunken
deep by all that you were sold,
not seeing that to suffer is so damn
normal.
Normal. To be confronted with
all this life that is real, swipes one,
or should they say, with a chip,
it slides into the machine,
and out comes the goods made
someplace.
They always resolutely use the devil,
the devil you must destroy.
but I like poems, that wonder
about end-games, reasons,
are without thinking, and then, comes
the end game, never before thought of.
And then people feel ashamed because,
how could they know.

Well the damn truth is they could not have.
See cause the reason is, they are only
human.
Peace!

I/'/m sorry man,
maybe this ones better suited.
Crimson flames tied through my ears
Rollin/'/ high and mighty traps
Countless with fire on flaming roads
Using ideas as my maps
We/'/ll meet on edges, soon, said I
Proud /'/neath heated brow
Ah, but I was so much older then
I/'/m younger than that now
Half-wracked prejudice leaped forth
Rip down all hate, I screamed
Lies that life is black and white
Spoke from my skull I dreamed
Romantic facts of musketeers
Foundationed deep, somehow
Ah, but I was so much older then
I/'/m younger than that now
In a soldier/'/s stance, I aimed my hand
At the mongrel dogs who teach
Fearing not that I/'/d become my enemy
In the instant that I preach
Sisters fled by confusion boats
Mutiny from stern to bow
Ah, but I was so much older then
I/'/m younger than that now
Ah, but I was so much older then
I/'/m younger than that now
My guard stood hard when abstract threats
Too noble to neglect
Deceived me into thinking
I had something to protect
Good and bad, I define these terms
Quite clear, no doubt, somehow
Ah, but I was so much older then
I/'/m younger than that now

Bob Dylan
