A Poet

Contributed by Rakerman1999 on Tuesday, 12th February 2019 @ 02:24:06 AM in AEST
Topic: poets

In a poet"s world the stars are dancers
ballerinas robed in twinkling light
ushered to the stage on wings of Angels
when the day at last succumbs to night

Sunset is a fleeting sea of colors
brushed upon the canvas of the skies
patiently awaiting mother darkness
then slipping from the sight of mortal eyes

Trees of winter stand as ancient soldiers
guardians whose vigil will not cease
catching pleasant dreams in barren branches
to share with us so we may sleep in peace

Raindrops are the tears of spirit lovers
as they cry in happiness and bliss
mingling with the sun to build a rainbow
then falling to the Earth with quenching kiss...

Some can"t find the beauty that surrounds them
others may not care for rhyme or prose
but when they see a stem left bare and broken
the poet closes eyes and smells the rose.

This was a very unique poem and had a great flow and I liked the word choices here. An original for sure.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
