Try Not To Cry

Contributed by jamesstockdale on Sunday, 26th July 2020 @ 12:48:55 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

Try not to cry
Hold back your tears, ignore your fears
It makes it easier to say goodbye
No matter how well we distort
Life is so short
No matter how much sadness you carry in your soul
Never let it take control
Your heart may be broken
Words mean little, no matter how well-spoken
Only time heals the pain
Take comfort in knowing, the memories still remain
Try to leave it in God`s hands
At this point, it`s your only option
Your only plan
Tomorrow brings a new day
Try to live your life that way.

Poignant yet inspirational. Positive thoughts to move forward with.
All the ones you have lost to death are still with you anyway. I believe this. If I/'/m wrong, guess I/'/ll find out soon enough anyway.

It was my best friend/'/s birthday on July 23rd, but once again I forgot it. I have no idea why I would continue to think it/'/s in August. He passed away in 2017. We grew up doing many things together, going to concerts being one. Liking the same bands, performers. Well, a week or so ago I had the urge to watch this DVD I purchased a couple of years ago; Emerson, Lake, and Palmer 40th Anniversary concert (and final concert 🙁). The first time I watched the DVD I felt like someone sat beside me on the couch. I was alone. I liked to think it was either Bryan or my brother. Who knows, maybe both. But when I watched it again just a week or so ago I am wondering if it was him saying, "Dugan, you/'/re forgetting my birthday again" because I felt that //presence // again.

"I don/'/t know, just a thought."

Great poem, Jimmy
