Cosmic Dust

Contributed by MoonlitAngel on Wednesday, 12th August 2020 @ 05:15:46 PM in AEST
Topic: DreamsandWishes

could I let go enough to start to come apart?
//molecules driftingÖ//
would I feel a stronger beat in this weakened heart?
//sadness liftingÖ//
could I go back to a place I canít remember?
//stardust burningÖ//
once upon a time I was a glowing ember
//my soul is yearning//

Iím stumbling in a world I wasnít made for
this alien body doesnít do what it was built for
the water from these eyes
wonít put out the fire inside

can I go home again?
cosmic dust again

I canít see it but I feel it in my veins
taking it in stride but Iím tripping over this pain
these oceans at my feet
still donít make this life complete

so Iíll let go until I start to come apart
and one day Iíll no longer need this human heart

Iím coming home again
cosmic dust again

Reminds me of something I read, that said we are all part of the cosmic dust of the universe.
I enjoyed the way it made me think about life again......especially in these times when life just seems back to front and upside down

Steve

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
