Topic: LoveRemembered

Footsteps echo down my hall.
I look, but no one/'/s there.
A vision of her face is all;
floating on the air.

I cared not where she led me,
for the promise in her eyes.
She was the first to bed me,
and left with no goodbyes.

Barren walls and tangled sheets
tell of a broken toy
who loved that which he could not keep,
when once he was a boy.

Such creative, haunting rhymes, like fairytales to teach a lesson. Thanks for sharing.

It/'/s good to read other poets swapping gender perspectives - a lovely ode to remembered love. First time is always bittersweet.

This has a certain nursery rhyme sing song quality with a big dollop of Sylvia Plath brooding intensity.
In other words this was a treat to read! Thank you.
