Energy In My Feet

Contributed by jamesstockdale on Saturday, 14th November 2020 @ 03:50:33 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Got energy in my feet
Too damn tired to sleep
They say you reap what you sew
How the hell would they even know
Sometimes I feel like I`m running in place
Just taking up space
I`d rather be lost without a trace
Than served up empty on a plate
Somehow I didn`t envision this fate
Time to escape off to a clean slate
My destiny I shall abate
The future not open for debate

true story
I am always looking around and saying

never thought I/'/d be here
and the way I Arrived here
as I am running in place...

I know this is a serious subject but that first line made me think of Steve Martin`s happy feet.

Anyway, "they" don`t know. Only you know.

Very intense, Jimmy. Take the clean slate and keepa goin`.

Jimmy Stockdale poetry rocks. 👍🏻

Hi James. I feel like I/'/ve read this poem before. The lines
"I`d rather be lost without a trace
Than served up empty on a plate", I recall them, but maybe on a diffirent poem or some other lines that are very close to this.

I like this poem a lot. /'/Too damn tired to sleep". I know the feeling, bro.

Mike

Many would identify, /'/sometimes I feel I/'/m running in place/'/, yes, been there, /'/Somehow I didn/'/t envision this fate/'/, yes there too, but without such experiences, how many of us would feel moved to create verse of such power? This is the great thing, that art can come out of these feelings, can be cathartic, so we can move on, hopefully, even thrive. Liked this very much.
