Living a Nightmare

Contributed by charm on Wednesday, 6th January 2021 @ 06:36:36 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

January. 2, 2020, a day that started with frustration
An unexpected message resulting from confrontation
Staying calm is all we can do at that moment
Then my nightmare began in torment

Day by day, week by week, it was not getting any better
Moving forward was about to become a life changer
Kept my head up and tried my best to stay strong
But a dose of reality continued to crash along

Lockdowns and working from home became the new normal
A deadly virus spreading all across the globe and getting brutal
COVID-19 hit our homes and completely damaged everything
Taking away innocent lives of loved ones and left families grieving

No matter how much you follow guidelines, nothing is a guarantee
So many unanswered questions about tomorrows uncertainty
Mixed emotions of anger, anxiety, health scares are among my fears
A never ending nightmare I have been carrying all year
Losing everything I have worked so hard for, one after the other
Encouraging hopes and beliefs is al we have for 2021 to recover...

As long as were living theres hope of better days. Sometimes the world and life needs a reset and priorities need to change for a time or sometimes forever. We can only live our life today because none of us is guaranteed more than right now. Handle today how you must and help whoever you can. Lucky us we have the gift and tools to express ourselves via writing.
Not everyone is so blessed.
Thanks for posting.
