Holding out for true love.
It seemed to take forever,
As I prayed to Heaven above.
Then unexpectedly you came,
Waltzing into my empty life.
You were just what I’d been waiting for,
To fill the void I tried to hide.
You filled my very being,
Breathed life into my lonely heart.
You gave me a reason for living,
You gave me a fresh, new start.
Oh, how thrilling were the feelings,
Taking over my lonesome soul.
Anticipation growing rapidly,
Your love making me feel whole.
I feel the brush of butterfly wings,
Like whispers of love in my chest.
My pulse races out of control,
Just your touch makes me feel blessed.
I could never, ever possibly show,
The depth of my love for you.
So much deeper than anything I’ve ever known,
And to your love, I’ll always be true.

For so long I waited,
Holding out for true love.
