Bleeding Faith

Open doors and windows
And to the knees
Blindly and weakly
Ushered him in
Oh what a beauty on a Sunday
The week's refrain in tune with the beat
Of my heart
Offered up and given in
Answered prayers and calls
Entered into willingly
Unafraid
With innocence's wide eyes
Belief with a capital
And doubt on a shoestring
If at all
Oh what a fairytale
Of epic 'happily ever after' proportions
Til you turned
Big bad wolf and all
And lied while you were lying with me
On a Sunday
And all week through - resonant
Cut the truth in half
And quartered my heart
Then broke it without taking blame
Open doors and windows
No more
Boarded up, Abandoned

Bleeding faith
It flows away...
