Edit Poem

Editing Instructions

Please note in the NOTES textbox below that this poem has been edited, do not put your name, please put as the following:
<!--EDITED by moderators on (Date) for (reasons).-->
DO NOT remove the line break ( <br /> ) html coding at the end of each line break, these are needed to form the correct lines.
THE CHEATIf you do not wish to delete a poem, or a certain part of a poem, and instead would like to send the url to Mick via PM for confirmation, enclose the entire poem (or part/s thereof) between <!--    and     --> (ie. <!--    POEM TEXT HERE     -->). This will still save the text, but will make it invisible from viewing (other than page source view). You could also add before the <!-- something to the effect of "This Poem under review".

Habits of mankind Someone please explain to me the strange things that we do! Am I all alone in this, or do you see it too?

1. How hard is it to tell someone what they dont want to hear? (and tell them most discreetly, to whisper in their ear!)
Of lipstick on their teeth, or the zipper that is slipping; We blurt it out with subtlety akin to velcro ripping.

2. Falling down in public gives us pause to sit; to look around, and hope weve found that no ones noticed it!
But break a bone, were on the phone, writhing loud in pain. Hoping all have seen us fall; and texting lots of names!

3. Compete and win? Now theres a sin we heartily deny! With lowered nose, embedded toes, and sorrow in our eyes.
Its rude to win, and to begin wed best apologize. You pay the cost; the best man lost; Next time, compromise.
Should you lose Ive got good news: no rituals preside! We are the injured party, which comes as no surprise.

4. Were tops at dodging compliments, like bullets from a gun! We so long to be normal – not charming, smart or fun!
(But listening to gossip is pilates for the ear! Bring a dirty secret so they know that youre sincere).

5. Armed with mace and apps that trace of all varieties; we commune with nature to escape society!
A nation bent on privacy; the password is all mighty! Without a clue of who is who, we play on Facebook nightly.

Of all of natures creatures, we live more from the heart, than any other species; and that sets us apart.

Its safe to say that wildlife doesnt lie, or win, or cheat.
But should you run across a moose with lipstick on its teeth;
Forget about the velcro and exit on the spot.
Cause compliments will follow and I hear hes quite a shot.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
