Too Wise to Fly
Let us depart, wild of heart;
Into the moment’s thunder.
My grown up and my child at war;
Tearing me asunder.
Age has made me far too wise;
Ive learned as time went by;
I fear Ill meet my own demise;
Too smart to try am I!
Once I was a dreamer;
Who leapt and sang and danced
Today Im just a schemer;
There is no second chance.
They warn you and protect you;
From things they never tried;
Time stacks the deck against you;
When you should own the sky.
