The Race
How do you win on distinctions so thin; that everyones evenly matched?
When you are no better; And they’re all go getters;
Ready and up for the task!
You huff and you puff; And you land in the rough;
So you get up each day and go back;
Youre gracious and humble; Such language you mumble!
Til the smile on your face nearly cracks.
Too stubborn to doubt; Too mad to give out;
While corporate types sit and look on!
All those who came; know that winning the game;
Is to last til the others are gone!
I wish you soft landings; A bankroll expanding!
The trophy and cheers winners get;
But the look of surprise; disbelief in their eyes;
Is the prize you will never forget!
