I Went To See Her Show
I went to see her show
To hear her sing and play
Nothing else to do that day
When she took the stage
The days anger and hostilities
Simply melted away
Now reduced to a backward page
Every word she would sing
Made a bell ring
It*s as if she sang only to thee
Her words went right through me
As if she really knew me
As her eyes locked in on mine
She took me places I*ve never been
She rolled back the layers of my soul
To an earlier place and time
I know she felt it too
As I was the only one she sang to
It was clear our souls were intertwined like glue
Just a few short hours ago
Neither one of us even knew
My only sorrow
There may be
No tomorrow
