I Read Too Much.
You didn’t ask; I didn’t tell; The less we know seems best;
Were some of these to come to light; We might all starve to death.
Skittles get that pretty red tint from a shiny oil;
The color is extracted from beetles that they boil.
Tea was put in bags to dunk most accidentally;
It used to be the way they mailed out samples that were free.
No one hand picks cranberries; theyre planted in a moat.
They flood it, then they skim them off the top because they float.
A rose is not a rose, would you believe their tree;
Include apples, pears and plums in the self same family?
To all you masticators out there, we know what youre doing!!
No need to blush, well keep it hushed; (yup, it means were chewing).
I often wondered how they named that meat they sell in cans.
SPAM is simply shorthand for a product called spiced ham.
Those fruity snacks add wax to make them chewy as they are.
Carnuba wax cures snack attacks and also shines our cars.
Peanuts can be naughty; or peanuts can be nice;
Besides a yummy sandwich, theyre used in dynamite.
By the time you read this line McDonalds will have sold
Seven hundred fifty of it hamburgers I’m told.
And by the way, our scientists say that blending meats allows;
One hamburger to be a mix of one hundred different cows.
In case an average dinner doesnt make our hunger go away;
Think of it as eating ninety thousand miles of DNA!
Time to go, with facts in tow in hopes that we may lack;
The will to dine; Which leaves more time for us to have a snack!
