Dear God, I don’t know what to do
I am truly lost
I don’t know which way to turn
I don’t know its cost

Loneliness burns from within
a pool of tears, slowly build
I don’t know what happened to my happiness
I just know there is an emptiness that needs to be filled

Afraid to make a decision
afraid to lose all that I love
Dear God, I pray to you
in the heavens up above

I find myself often looking down
but I don’t notice the footprints I leave behind
I don’t know if you’re carrying me
my loneliness has made me blind

Dear God, please guide me
help me to find love for my broken heart
Help me with my decisions
show me where I need to start

There is no easy way to deal with all of this
but I take every single day in stride
With the support of my veteran comrades
it will help me wade the tide

To all of you who feel this way
together we share all the same
You’ve got my back and I’ve got yours
there is no wall of shame
