We are at war
at war with ourselves
at war with one another
standing here in the shadow of your guilt
wondering why you would do such a thing
to leave me to take the blame
now you feel the shame of what you've done
fighting with your friends
fighting with your family
running from the real problem
the real issue
that is you
you try to ask for help
and yet you never take it in
you brush it off your shoulder
and begin the issue once again
stop running from yourself
no matter how far you go
i will always be here
and i will always know
the life you left behind
for that empty space inside your mind
a place you think you won't be seen
a place where you can only dream
a world where real friends don't exist
and you will never feel freed
from the heartache and the backstabs
that are constantly thrown your way
do me a favor
and free yourself
to become your mind's slave
