Pay Close Attention

Topic: FriendshipPoetry

My friend, pay close attention.
I see the road youre shifting towards.
And be thoroughly warned.
The road is only a dead end.

My friend, pay close attention.
Learn from my mistakes
You should know my heart aches
From the roads end.

My friend, pay close attention.
Youre treading on ice.
Your judgment wont suffice.
Your vision is distorted.

My friend, pay close attention.
The rejection of one
Should not drive you
To the arms of another

My friend, pay close attention.
I understand your pain
Ive been there too
But youre acting like a fool

My friend, pay close attention.
Its a temporary attraction
A simple infatuation
It will pass with time

My friend, pay close attention
I beg of you wake up
Your rejection should not
Become your obsession

My friend, pay close attention
Ill always be here for you
Even if you hit the dead end.
Ill always be here, Youre friend

Very nice poem! It is very hard to watch someone you care about making what you know to be a mistake. I really liked the way you ended the poem. :)
