A Wonderful Man

Id like to be serious, if I can
And tell you about a wonderful man
A person who meant the world to me
With his caring, love, and generosity
A giant who walked amongst a child
While sheltering him from the crowd
Who wasnt afraid to hold my hand
With gentleness few other men can
A worker, who provided well
Who took the time to show me how
A scholar, who was very smart
Who raised his children with such heart
A faithful husband, a terrific neighbor
Who was never above doing a favor
A teacher, who showed me much
Always with a gentle touch
A standout man, a model guy
Who now calls his home on high
A loving father and a friend
Whom I greatly miss above all end
