Marigold

Marigold...
Golden hues which found her alight with hope...
In the eve of her famed childhood.
Prodigy...
Born in the deepest and mysterious of places...
In an uncharted sea...
Just breath...
Destination...
They said she'd be the one to put an end
To earthly greed.

They closed their eyes...
And told her to follow them.

Newborn stars...
A silver rain falls into her curious eyes...
She reaches out to touch the falling sky...
And is pulled back for her safety.
Since then she watches thunderstorms through thickly plated glass...
Secretly wishing that she could fly...
Fly into a rainstorm until she's soaken and freed...
Lightning strikes the earth as she begins to cry.

They put chains on her...
And told her to trust them.

Suspended tears...
They seek to destroy her and they could hardly care...
They see the bigger picture...but fail to see the point...
They stole something away to keep something they couldn't hold...
Her heart was broken, and what lay inside it, they could not bar...
They took away greed...
And created war...
Marigold...
Golden hues which blessed her childhood with unfounded hope.
She was born in the deepest part of a darkened see..
And there, in the crushing waves,
her body shall alway float.
