Just a message to say...
Even though it doesn't seem like it...
Even if I am a bit standoffish...
Even if there is no chance of ever seeing you again...
I just wanted you to know...

I am hardly a romantic on the surface...
I do not write love poems...
I cannot hold a note when singing a song about
How all I see is your eyes,
I hold your heart,
You complete me...
I change radio stations when I hear a love
song is about to start.

However,
I think there is a romantic inside me trying to get out...
I used to write love songs...
And I think I could hold a note when singing about how,
Your out there somewhere,
Your capability of mending my shattered heart,
How I admire the way you are...
And I secretly wish that I could understand...
Love songs on the radio.

I roll my eyes,
When reading a romance novel...
Or I would...
If I ever had the slightest desire to read one...
I'm not all that fond of love story's,
At least the traditional kind...
You won't catch me watching the Lifetime channel...
I probably won't ever say that I cannot live without you...
And I might reconsider this relationship if you
start to pick out our song...
Especially if it's just another sappy love song...

But,
I've written this to tell you,
I've kept all of the flowers I've ever been given,
I have several boxes of wilted corsages...
I've kept notes,
Phone numbers...
And various boxes from gifts I have recieved...
Because the truth is...
I am a romantic...
I just haven't found someone yet...

I've written to tell you...
That although you will probably never read this...
I think you might be it...

And I think I've lost my chance...

So in closing...

I think could (L) you.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
