You knew before
That girl with
Ready smile
That girl you knew
Is just a myth
Her eyes are
Now hostile
She views the world
Through broken dreams
Her heart now
Crushed and bruised
The trust she had
Is all but gone
Her hope and love
Abused
He squeezed her soul
Til fingers bled
But souls
Are made to mend
That girl you knew
Will smile again
Her hurt, her tears
Will end
