I wish I could write poetry
I really wish I could
Just this morning it did strike me
To try, perhaps I should
I sat at my desk, took up my pen
I tapped it on my head
To try and wake some memory
That I presumed was dead
The ideas danced around and round
And never seemed to rest
I tried to set my mind upon
The one I thought was best
And then it soon did hit me
As I was going to give in
"A poem about writing poems!" I said
And I wrote it all down with a grin

| What a very "to the point" poem about writing poems. This is a lighthearted, enjoyable read indeed! I could imagine you writing this, and the last stanza was my favorite. |

i like it. Gave me a giggle. I sit here imagining you sitting there tapping your head with a pencil as if you could make a poem idea pop up. Oops, guess maybe you did.
