Forgotten I lay, your arm
Distant, clutched into your quiet body
The unfriendly scent of a one night stand
Lingers, mixing into the air
This is not our first time here.
Inside my eyes scream
Do You See Me!!?
My pupils shrink with sadness
Disappearing with your
Steady breath
Sleeping soundly
Contracting
Hypnotic rhythm telling our story
Of the many nights before, all crashing
Into this moment
With you
Underneath the enormous blanket
Grayish blue quilted and warm
My body chills
Turning slowly, facing
Blank walls
Hospital white, glowing through the darkness
Laughing, whispering the truth
Still I long for your touch
Memory
Once soft demanding fingers
Sending blazing tingles
Into my soul
Smiles, slightly crooked and amused
Haunt me, daring to lie
False hope bursting
Through every door
Yet;
With you
Forgotten I lay
