~This Life~

Contributed by capergirl_23 on Sunday, 12th January 2003 @ 01:20:00 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

~Distances between us,
a mean to no end.
~Apart from reality,
A daydream will lend.
~Sunshine through this grey cloud,
& rain drops on dew.
~Will this sunrise,
Bring us something to new?
~Tilted head & outstretched hand,
Large grins show his jagged teeth.
~Music rises from the band.
Words slowly rise out from
~his mouth, through the air,
unbroken & untouched,
~by his meaningless words.
Will they continue to fall on deaf ears?
~And never be heard, nor touched.
Will the homeless remain unsheltered?
~Will the young continue to die?
Will happiness always be filtered
~By others' sorrows, fears,
& nightmares of yester year?
~Will the dying have no hope?
Will the living cease to live?
~Where have all our dreams disappeared to?
Is the only world of love, trust, faith & hope
~consist of that little place where we run rampant to?
To that little place far back in our mind...
~Where we tell ourselves that everything
is ok??

your poem explains how you feel. it makes a person think. it was great to read.It shows how much you really care about whats around you. There should be more people that should look at the reality of life as you do.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
