Cyclic Storms Benath the Roof

Contributed by waos on Thursday, 28th July 2005 @ 11:55:23 PM in AEST
Topic: FamilyPoems

Flaunt your false intelligence,
order your suggestions as law,
tear through tattered self-confidence
and reduce children
to shriveled molds of yourself.
Calm the terror with violence
through sound waves assaulting,
capsizing this craft.
Plastic pink notes hide masochism in the air
as your gifts are your truth.
Cactuses to Daughters symbolic,
betraying your true visionary opinions
of the life you created.
Inflict pain to pass the time,
memories to last a lifetime.
Throw the rope to entrap fleeing feet,
keep the family beneath you,
tainted by your school of thought.
Someday the hand supposedly feeding me
shall be ripped to shreds,
left alone to scream at empty walls.
Words like daggers dash the wall
as my flight halts to see the threats.
Soon you'll be left to scream alone
with no ears to heap your abuse on.
But today I reside
'neath this moth-eaten tapestry,
waiting for the moment these caterpillar feet
melt away to butterfly wings.
To blow away the dust
resting on my death stricken skin
you butchered yourself.
Wings to carry my soul upon,
lift above this horror, this camp of death,
to reign in new blue
free from you.

The-brokn-rose. I abosulutly loved this write, very good work, keep up the good writing. SLipSiX.

This was my favorite part.

But today I reside
'neath this moth-eaten tapestry,
waiting for the moment these caterpillar feet
melt away to butterfly wings.

Very powerful, contains pain but also an overwhelming feeling of hope and a realisation that you're the better person, thanks for sharing it.

Wonderfuly penned Kara you have vividly
expressed your canvas of pain. I loved it all
although it is hard to see a friend going
through this and I hope and trust that your
family isn't fighting anymore after that horrible
night. Thanks for sharing this and maybe
after tonight I will have a poem I can share
with you.

Hugs,
Joel
