There is a higher world than this, far and strange.. where loving hearts are subject to no change.
Out of our narrow day, the blinking mind.. where no rude remembrance leaves behind a sour taste on the tongue; there no shadows move.
The hushed, eternal, reality of love- and there above the thunder and rain, unending love brings unending pain.. in that place.
Love alters not with the changing face but lives forever, conquering in grace.. imperishable, unspoiled, unsaid, and undead.
And we who below, can't but understand the quick electric magic in the hand.. weave our little dreams and blithely go out into the dark of life to know a brief fugitive pleasure.... and bravely kiss.
To think life holds little else than this - The faint, sweet, intimacy of others, lulling us into spells; nothing lingers.. ( save a scarecrow)..A limping sorrow in the night and soon that too diminishes and dies in strong questing hearts.. and morning eyes!! Opening unto, a new and broader light~
Is it a truth, no lips can cover? Mortal love dies with the mortal lover?? And we are disenchanted, perplexed and sad.. and glad... are we left with nothing to be had?

unacceptable, i would go for it y not, the state
that love is in on this planet 4 get it, be a hell
of an improvement, not to mention maybey
men and women woulld be equal, less apt to
exploit each other 4 the thrill of it, interesting

I don't know if I understand what you want me too, but I know I understand this verse. We love the real person inside no matter what face they have. In actuality, even if they could change looks, in theory, you should still love that person for they are still the same person you loved, just different look. Yes, or no? |

I like the way this poem makes you think. I especially liked,
"Is it a truth, no lips can cover?
Mortal love dies with the mortal lover??"
really nice job.

You are a amazing writer. I have read this more than once and I find each verse more incredible than the one before. I agree with what Rita said and I feel like a student asking the teacher for insight on a work of art

your write... gives out very warm feelings,. opens up the lung..
it has a mindwise.. heartwise.. RING to it..
I just wanted to imagine heaven.. as I read your poem.. away from all pain..
I will let your words think..
while your words think.. I will feel goodness.
I like the way you write in the positive note.. nice structure of field play here.. allows the reader to move around..
and then.. comes the big questions..at the end.. which does not sum it all up.. it makes you go back to read again and again..
Nice circle.. a RING with no end...

Well, I found this a highly refreshing and inspiring piece, my friend. The language is excellent, the theme profound, and that last stanza is a terrific conclusion. Bravo!

Oh my WORD!
I am in an utter state of awe, here! I am reminded of Shakespeare's Sonnet 116, [one of my favourites :)]
"....; love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove.
O no, it is an ever fixed mark,
That looks on tempests and is never shaken;
.....
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks
But bears it out even to the edge of doom."
Yes, yes YES, I say!! I have always been of the opinion that love- true love - stays. It is not something that is
just felt, but breathed, lived and CHERISHED- even through those trying times when we wonder how we might make
it through. "nothing to be had" dear poet? O no!! In answer to your query love brings us EVERYTHING; understanding,
compassion, smiles, laughter, and even sorrow and pain, ( a necessity sometimes in order to exchange the
beauty and value of the more sublime emotions), though we ARE subject to forget. Sometimes all we need
is a soft reminder. ♥
All my undying, unwavering and unCHANGING love,
forevermore~
~Breezy
