Topic: abstract

In this sleep
my ultimate awake
mirror reflects soul
door to an empty land

blink is bright
stare is dark
an endless horizon
hover with twilight

rough and unforgiving
secrets locked shut
keys smithed within
the possibilities of mind

truth a lie like others
fate always shifting
tides rise by moonlight
tears fall by daybreak

a rhythm of pulse erratic
following wind motions
hollow noise
the great beckoned calls

candle wax sweat
pressed upon page
an emblem seal
ink cradled on parchment

wisdom and lies
written in best form
have we not yet learned
passing by life's task.
