You cannot breathe without your precious sight Yet you cannot see the groping hands Closing round your neck The storm is rolling in But you are busy strolling in Your happy little world of sin
You think you know of wrath enough For paradise's warm embrace Yet nothing you can think can brace For the knife that hangs above your head You do not fear the cause of you But the effect will bear you far away
Mystery bodes well for those who care Enough without the knowing For South a potent wind is blowing Betraying your convenient vision But soon the incision transforms the truth When the gale becomes a blizzard
Conviction will be the saviour of convicts For reason deludes the truth Follow faith wherever it leads you Acknowledge no excuse Every being knows the way So to survive throughout the night Believe completely in the dark or completely in the light

I was listening to congress sway back and forth .. and I thought .. either a person has a conviction or not .. for some reason this reminds me of the wishy-washyness of people running for political office .. |

Some words of wisdom in this poem. You didn't really make it clear where you stand with things, but that's kind of good. It's left open to the readers interpretation. The on/off rhyme scheme threw things off though. It's better to do one or the other. Nice poem. |

Well done, and welcome, although I may be a month late.... This is a very good poem, leaving many truths to be gleaned by readers. Good choice for a first post.
Take care.
