Imagination...

Topic: StoryPoetry

Darkness reigns over this unforeseen voyage,
The wind lashing through another beckoning forest.
Stallions silk barely glistening in the twilight,
All the while, the footsteps grow nearer

Whinnying, almost to retreat,
As shadows taunt every breath.
Steam slowly escaping narrowed nostrils;
Attempts to maintain this deathly silence.

A sharp snap shatters all tranquility,
Riders sent mercilessly to the ground,
Rolling through a blanket of dew,
As the stallion, confused, gallops around.

And beyond this chaotic scene
Lurks the creator of such havoc.
Inching closer as man and horse
Clumsily stumble about.

Yellow eyes deviously gleam
From behind a nearby shrub.
And claws slowly extend,
Anticipating the warmth of their flesh.

Another twig gives way,
Sending a loud crack through the forest.
The rider lets out a startled gasp,
As their stalker carelessly approaches.

Both man and stallion stare in awe--
The suspense slowly thickens
The stalker offers a sharpened claw,
Whilst the rider cautiously reaches out.

Gentle hand and cunning claw gradually meet,
Anxiety continually rising.
Until the soothing murmur of a purr
Forever softens the hearts of them all.

Aw this poem made me cry, I love horses so much, they are my favorite animal, that is what my name means, it means I like horses. I loved the scene of the horse running through the forest. When the predator was stalking both of them I was at the edge of my seat, I was saying if he jumps at them, the horse could turn around kick him. But then again haha, the ending finished it off, I absolutely loved it. SLipSiX.

Not only do you write poetry I see the talent of a novelist in your poetry. You have the call to write and you do it most effectively.

*Sighs for a bit*

Remarkable and I could take up a page at least--quoting your stanzas.
