Ode Of a Distressed One

Contributed by pUnKa_RaCh on Monday, 8th August 2005 @ 10:38:53 PM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

No words can surmise
How my saddened heart does feel
The guilt so harsh and rampant
Oh the sorrow of my ordeal
Appearing to be righteous
Yesterday, when the season was fine
When I befitted holiness
When of faith I did incline

Now I am deserving of your rod
Worthy of eternal pain
Condemnation rightly due
Of the sinful works I do obtain
This dark hour does frighten
Oh am I the devils new seed?
Or am I downhearted, repentant
Of your majestic voice to heed

Dismal torture of the minds eye
Shattering with every reckless piece
Sins overwhelming and redundant
Of these abusive thoughts please cease
God I forever plead
Of my soul please forgive
Send my errors afar
So I may taste peace and live

Can thou envision my heart?

In this godly state of sadness

Please bury my wrong deeply

And favor my eyes with gladness

I beckon for thee
Heal my grotesque ways.

Oh my Rach-

you've a bit of "the days of yore"
here..
It's deep yet simple..
I only regret I hadn't read it sooner..

(not liked too much here nowadays-)

Yours-

B
