This is about a girl A girl that appears so put together, but is so torn apart in places people cant see. A girl that is never satisfied with everything or anything at all as a matter of fact. Somethings missing...
This is about a girl A girl that has something eating at her, but has no idea what that something is. A girl that pushes people away, but only when they try to pull her close. Somethings wrong...
This is about a girl A girl that needs so much reassurance when theres nothing to be assured of. A girl that loves her life, but hates the way shes living. Somethings happening...
This is about a girl A girl that I see every so often every time I glance at my reflection. A girl that I know pretty well she actually reminds me a lot of myself. Somethings changing...
This is about me A girl that has so much to be happy about and so much to make her unhappy. Something needs to be done...

Hey, I can totally relate to this poem of yours. It sounds like you've had some "out of body" experiences while looking in the mirror. Also, it sounds like you desire intimacy, but fear it way too much to accept it when offered to you. (As do I). I like your consistency with the first line, and last line of every stanza. Towards the end you sounded as if you look down upon yourself for being unhappy. That's just rediculous if you ask me, though I've done the same. It's like hating yourself for being a deep, introspective, philosophical, and spiritual person. Don't hate, desire more until you're blue in the face. Okay, that's all I have for now. If you want to read any of my work I recently submitted a poem called "Split." Check it out, let me know your thoughts. Thank you, and keep writing, I enjoy your work. |
