you say it's the inside
not the outside
that makes a person
but you make yourself phony
cuz you, I and we
all know
that you want a man
w/ a healthy glow
soft skin
or maybe light skin
why light skin?
why not mohagany
or brown sugar
mixed w/ coffee
but does looks matter?
I want you
w/thes lips
so we can kiss
or else we didn't conversating at all
but does looks matter?
cuz me, I and we
and everybody know
we don't wanna
take an "ugly" person back to our mama
so they can diss
but neva get the chance
to understand
them as a person
Why isn't the quote"don't judge a book
by its cover"
enforced to the edge?
But does looks matter?
He gotta be this
gotta be that
this is the reason why
many people commit suicide
or feel so down
so they can be
that all around
guy or girl
trying to change their natural straight hair
in a curl
then fill their bodies w/ plastic
or change them w/ alterations
But does looks matter?
Yeah you thinking
I'm full of pain and insecurity
but take it from me
cuz i'm really *****
why people try 2 diss
other people
when we as people
should accept people 4 who they are?
but does looks matter?
pick up ya lip
you know i'm right
thought i whouldn't say *****
so therefore
just to let you know
cuz me, you, and we
know that society
portrays and makes
people assume
that looks do matter!
so what do you think?

| By the way, it is "DO looks matter". In this context, the word "does" is reserved for the singular case. Like "does this look matter". . . one look. When you are talking about looks (plural, and denoting all the particular aspects of a persons face, body, etc.) you use the word "do". |

| First of all, i appreciate the "english lesson" on grammar but in poetry, me personally, i think you write down however you feel and don't care about just let it flow on the paper! |

| I agree with SmokinJoeEvil but other wise it is a good write. It is true to what is happening to people everyday. A person is rejected cuz of his/her looks. It really isnt right. |
